Night School @ The Beer Can!

Class is in session! Join us for Night School - unique classes and workshops from Winnipeg people and organizations Wednesdays this summer.

July 8th

This week, we’re hearing from Michael Redhead Champagne discussing the Self Taught Healing Wheel.

Can you name 4 ways you take care of your heart? How about your mind? Join us for an evening of fun, reflection and wellness. If you want to find ways to care for your whole self, join Michael as he shares tips and strategies for mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical wellness! This workshop aims to equip attendees with a plan that includes 16 self care strategies organized into mind, heart, body and spirit. We will share stories and examples, and celebrate the positive behaviours that help keep us healthy.

July 15th

In just about two hours, our performing artist will guide you through a painting step-by-step. At the end of the night, take home your own unique masterpiece--you will be amazed with what you can do! This special Painting experience led by a local artist is open to painters ages 6 and up.

July 22nd

This week, learn how to braid hair with Praise. This Night School class is perfect for everyone - if you want to braid your daughter’s hair, learn how to braid your own or are just interested in learning more about diverse hair types, this is the perfect event for you.

July 29th

Join us to make your own arrangement featuring local grown flower to take home and celebrate summer flowers. We will know more about the recipe 2 weeks before.  Possible summer flowers are zinnia, sunflowers, sweat peas and lisianthus.  We will provide all the instruction , container and flowers .

August 5th

Hema and Sarah from Red Tent Winnipeg-Safer Spaces, are excited to be hosting “Sexual health, for fun!” They will be covering topics like consent, pleasure and protection through fun activities and games that are meant to test your sexual health knowledge while providing accurate, nonjudgmental information! There will also be Q & A time to ask all your burning sex ed questions!

August 12th

Beer School will look at the decisions that face a brewer on their way to creating a delicious product. Participants will taste their way through the lesson while considering the historic, geographic, and cultural aspects that may influence a brewer’s choices.

August 19th

Jesse Oberman from NextFriend Cider will help you help him keep good food out of the landfill.

World Cup Watch Party

Reserve your table for the day of matches. This is an optional ticket. It ensures a table will be waiting for you when you arrive. The entire reservation fee will be donated to KidSport Manitoba. Tables will be held until kick-off of the game listed on the ticket. If you don't have a ticket you are welcome to grab an unreserved table, or make friends with other soccer fans! 

Tables will be reserved until kick-off. Reserved tables will be assigned to groups as they arrive, so come early if you want the best table! The watch area is accessible with a ramp, but it can be difficult to maneuver among the trees.
